Hérès Mexico – Meet the team

We are proud to introduce our team of lawyers in our Mexico City office, which includes Javier Mondragón Alarcón.

Javier has a remarkable trajectory in the Mexican business world, which stands out among others for his role as legal advisor to businessman Carlos Slim.

Javier has held important executive positions in large companies; he was the legal director of TELMEX Teléfonos de México, when it was the largest telecommunications company in the country. He was also Legal Vice President of Grupo Televisa and Executive Vice President of Grupo Televicentro, and participated in the consolidation of several of the group’s companies to create Grupo Televisa. He also played a key role in the successful launch of Grupo Televisa’s Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Mexican and New York Stock Exchanges (NYSE).

Javier is an active member of the Mexican Bar Association, where he had the honor of serving as deputy coordinator of the Administrative Law Committee.

Javier holds a law degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and is a doctoral candidate in Administrative and Constitutional Law. He holds a Master’s degree in European Union Competition Law, and a Diploma in Economics in Competition Law from Kings College London. He also specialized in amparo proceedings, tax law and corporate and economic law at the Universidad Panamericana.

Javier is fluent in Spanish and English.
